Not at all what I expected a class to be. Especially for 3hrs and 15mins in the evening. Yes, I slept like the dead last night when we got back home. The instructor is great (helps that she's had three children of her own).
A lot of discussion and talking amongs the group. I kept looking at Raul wondering if I was having a completely abnormal pregnancy. Actually kind of scared me. A lot of the other women asked questions about lower back pain, how their ankles are all swollen, they have leg cramps, pee when they laugh or cough, even mentioned that the sleep surrounded by pillows. First, my toes are the only things that swell by the end of the day and that's only if I've been on my feet for the most part and they just look funny. I don't have any lower back pain (could be from all the comments from mom to stand up straight when I was growing up), but I do have that nagging pain in my upper back. Leg cramps I've not had, yet and no I do not pee my pants when I laugh, cough, or sneeze. I sleep with one pillow as I have done every night of my life and it's for my head. I litterally got a bunch of strange looks when I asked the instructor about the fact that there is no way I am able to sleep on my side at all. I prefer to sleep on my back, Joshua sleeps when I'm on my back, he wiggles around too much when I'm on my sides. Besides, when I try to sleep on my sides my legs and arms go numb regardless of which side I sleep on so I just resort to sleeping on my back. Next week I enter my 8th month and have had no major concerns or complaints about this pregnancy. I should be greatful, but I just feel ackward when I can't say that I have the "usual" or "average" pregnancy complaints.
Next weeks class should be fun. We get to tour the Maternity Ward.
