You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.

New Mini Stroller

Last night we went out for dinner and of course had to hit up the Baskin-Robbins for 31 cent scoop night. We forgot Joshua's stroller in the garage so we went to the HEB where we bought a couple of the mesh food things to put food into for Joshua to nibble on, diapers, wipes, and a stroller. This stroller will come in handy for the quick jaunts or when we are going somewhere that the large stroller won't fit.

Mommy only put ice in this thing....that is so unfair

Just About Time For A New Carseat

Joshua's infant carrier is just about time to go out of commission. The limits on the carseat are 22 pounds or 29 inches, whichever comes first.

So far according to our methods here at home....Joshua weighs 19lbs and is 27" long. No wonder my arms are starting to get all toned up.

When we come back from California we will need to purchase a new carseat. This is the one that we are currently looking at.

Laundry

You know it's time to do laundry when it starts sitting up on it's own and smiling at you.

It's My Bath....Get Your Own

Joshua started this yesterday when I was bathing him. Afterward I will sit him in the water...Raul came in and splashed the water and Joshua screamed at him. Today he did it to me and we got it on camera to share or blackmail him with later on.

My Blue Elephant

"She caught me playing with my elephant!"

Joshua finally figured out that if he pulls on the legs that the elephant wiggles around. Notice what he has gripped in his other hand....one of his flipper slippers. Now that he grabs his feet he pulls everything off.

Standing Up

This picture has not been edited in any way. Joshua is standing up on his own with the slight help of the Ottoman.

Before we know it he is going to be walking all over the place.

Attempting To Sit

Joshua hasn't learned yet how to hold his upper body up to sit on his own unsupported, but he is getting so close.

Re-Organized Joshua's Room

I spent yesterday re-organizing Joshua's room to move the Amby Bed into his room so that he has a peaceful quiet spot for napping and at night since he sleeps in the Amby half the night. Last nights longest stretch was from 11:30-3:30. It was wonderful. I also noticed that we haven't swaddled him in like a month...he's doing great with that as well.

Caught Him Laughing On Camera

His laugh is so infectious. He loves playing with his daddy. I don't think anyone else can get him to just laugh unless they are doing something to him like swinging him in the air or tickling him. This is so precious.

He Found His Feet And Toes

Yep...he's growing up so fast. He has finally found his feet and toes. Before I grabbed the camera to take these pictures he had just grabbed and held onto his big toe. You can see him thinking..."How can I get these into my mouth?"

Take Your Son/Daughter To Work Day

Joshua is too little to go to work with Daddy so we drove up to Daddy's office and took him to lunch yesterday.

I am going to make this a yearly tradition and something that Joshua will be able to remember for years. I know that it is one of my greatest memories of my dad. I remember getting up early...I'd even been taken to buy a pair of boots...I got up early, got dressed, and headed out with Dad. We stopped at a local cafe that served up a great breakfast. I followed him to every single meeting and everywhere he went carrying a notepad, a pencil, and a tape measure. Mom came and picked me up around lunchtime...she said I was asleep before we ever left the job-site.

Here is Daddy putting Joshua into his carseat.

Binkie Collector

I get so tired of trying to find a binkie around the house when I need on so I used my large Coeur d'Alene margarita glass to collect them into. Seems to be working.

Buddies

The other day Raul picked up Joshua, who proceeded to throw his arm around his daddy's neck.

Circuit Assembly

We had our circuit assembly this past weekend. Joshua did a really good job. He slept all through the afternoon sessions both days. Played like crazy in the back of the car during lunch, had two total explosions the entire time, and loved watching the other kids moving around across the aisle.
