You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.

Daddy's Artwork

Raul made this plaque to hang in Joshua's room. I love it. It means a lot to me because it is homemade....it wasn't purchased at a store.

He Slept Through The Night

Yesterday, Joshua did not want to take his afternoon nap no matter what I did...I even put him in our bed and crawled in with him....nope...he fussed, talked, and cried about it. Daddy came home and we played and had dinner....tried to get him to sleep again....no such luck.

At about 7:30pm I tried to feed him again....okay had to maneuver him just right so that he could not squirm around and would eat. Wrapped him up and rocked him to sleep. He didn't even make a sound other than a contented sigh when I put him in his crib.

At 4:30am I went to check on him since I hadn't heard a peep all night long. He was sleeping away....granted not in the same place I put him...he's become a wiggle worm and moves himself to the very end of the crib (see picture).

This is from Saturday morning:

Getting Better At Tummy Time

Maybe his Tummy Time is getting better.

Photobucket

No More Swaddling

This morning I went to get Joshua who had been grunting and making small noises for about an hour. I should have grabbed my camera, but didn't think about it. Joshua had rolled onto his side and was chewing on his hands. He didn't even register that I had turned on the light and that Raul and I were standing there watching him. It upset him when we rolled him back to his back and took the blanket off...he was upset about that. He will most likely roll from his back to his stomach before he rolls from his stomach to his back.

Anyway, We decided that we won't be swaddling him anymore....at least not with the swaddle blanket. I'll use one of his light blankets or even receiving blanket to hold his arms down for the initial part of the night to get him to sleep. I just don't like that he wants his arms out and struggles to get them out, which probably wakes him up more than any arm jerks. He slept with me this morning after Raul left for work and slept for two and a half hours not being swaddled at all.

My little boy is growing up so fast.

These pictures are from his nap yesterday...caught in the act of getting out of his blanket.

Joshua Talking Away

Life Is Good

Photobucket

When we pick him up out of his crib or a chair or even when he's done eating and we need ti burp him, he tucks himself all up so I found these pants with the writing on his bum. Isn't he just adorable?

I Want One

Photobucket

Photobucket

I want one of these...this would cut down the time it would take to make baby food for Joshua. It is sold on Williams-Sonoma.com

I'm going to have to save for this little item. I have time...well, about three months at least.

He Giggled

Yes...my little guy giggled on Tuesday night. I went to change his diaper and then did some arm stretches that always gets huge grins out of him. Well, Tuesday night he let out two really big giggles. No we didn't catch it on video because it was just unexpected and we were just doing a routine thing. He hasn't giggled again since. Hopefully soon and we'll catch it on film.

And Yet More Videos. . . . . Can't Get Enough Of Them

Crying Himself To Sleep

Joshua is learning how to go to sleep without his swaddle blanket since we can't swaddle him after 14wks old, which is 3mths, 2wks old. I think it is because they will have control of their arms and aren't jerky, which wakes them back up. So I put him in his crib and jumped in the shower. This is how I found him once I had gotten dressed and came out to check on him because it was really quiet and I had heard him screaming while I was in the shower.

New Washing Machine

Well, I got my new washing machine. I originally wanted one of the new front load machines, but I spoke with one of my neighbors, who has one, and she said that she hates it. Because of how they are made, the drums never really drain all of the water and mold starts growing.....ewwwww. Not something I want to deal with. So I went with one of the long lasting, tried and true top loads. It is so quite...you'd never know I was doing laundry. Now hopefully by the end of the year we can afford to get the dryer to match. That would be nice.

Holding Things

Joshua is starting to hold things....he pulls blankets and sheets up to his mouth now so that he can chew on them. So Saturday night was the first time that he held onto something. I got the picture yesterday.

Random Pictures

If he really is teething like his pediatrician says he is this shirt might not be so real.

Photobucket

Raul calls these his old man pants. He is so long we have to have larger pants on him...anywhere from 6-9mth sizes...depending on the pants.
Photobucket

Yes, he still fits in his cradle.
Photobucket

The look on his face just makes me think he's saying...."Did you just tell me 'NO'?"
Photobucket

Raul propped him up...look at his expression...why do my parents do this to me?

My favorite picture so far.
