You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.

Loving Daddy

Just some random pictures of Joshua loving on his daddy.

He's Standing Up

Photobucket
Joshua is now pulling himself to standing up on his own. It's all over...he's not going to stay put anymore. Before we know it he'll let go and start walking around the house, then running and jumping. Where did all the time go? Didn't we just bring him home from the hospital?

I love it...I love everything he does and I'm so greatful that I have been the one to see him do everything for the first time. I've been able to watch him grow and explore his world (our living room) every day he finds something new to do and get into.

Finally Fixed His Carseat

Every time Joshua would go to sleep in his car seat his head would end up on his knees no matter what I did. So the other day I finally fixed it and he sleeps really comfy in there now.

Getting His Own Toys

Joshua is getting so much more active that he is getting to the point of pulling his own toys out of the box. He is so cute when he actually accomplishes what he has in his mind to do.

Teeth

Here is a picture, although blurry, of Joshua's two lower front teeth that have broken through the skin. Looks like more are on the way too.

Crawling On All Four

Joshua has been doing a worm baby crawl were he uses his stomach for the most part, but now he is crawling on his hands and knees a lot more to get where he needs to go.

Diagram of Teeth

Here is a drawing of what teeth a baby should have in the first two years. I've dated the two that have broken the skin. It looks like the one next to #1 is going to break soon.

We Have Nibblers

Photobucket
Joshua has gotten his first tooth or three, how ever you want to look at it. Most definitely he has gotten his lower front left tooth and the right one looks about ready to break through. Then there is a spot of tooth on either his eyetooth or molar area. Which leaves us with a baby that will wake up at night or during naps at meeting screaming in pain. He gets some Tylenol or Motrin, Hyland's Teething Tablets and some Orajel. We are going to try and get some pictures, but Joshua is very protective of his mouth and does not want us looking at his gums and seeing what he has going on in there.

I wish there was more I could do for him, but all I seem to be able to do is hold him and comfort him. They say that if an adult were to go through the pain of teething that he would go insane from just the pain. Now I know why we teeth before we have a memory.

Barbecue and Pool Party

We had our first barbecue and pool party today. When everyone arrived we sat around the living room and watch the kids play with all of Joshua's toys...it was fun to see that he wasn't upset about other kids playing with his toys.

We put hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and watched all the kids play int he pool.

Joshua playing on his squirt pool.

All the kids and the dads playing in the water.

Case & Briana Reinertsen talking with John & Josie Catalano.

Joshua all wet now.

A baby footprint (I don't remember which baby this footprint came from, but I had to take the picture)

Gianna getting water squirted in her mouth by her daddy, John.

All the kids decided to play on the squirt pool and Joshua felt crowded and tried to make a break for it. The shadow is Daddy coming to put him back on.

Connor playing with the squirting water.

Mommy watching over Joshua

Joshua and Gianna playing together.

Joshua was actually drinking the water squirting out of the pool.

All the kids: Joshua, Savannah, Akayla, Gianna, Connor, and Summer

New Toy

Joshua loves to stand up now and wants to play with his toys while standing, but can't figure out how to hold them too. So I did my search of craigslist to see what I could find after all there is no point in buying a bunch of toys at actual cost when you never know if he will like them let alone be using them for long.

Standing up playing with his music table.

He was originally trying to pull himself up, but found his phone underneath and thought it was a better toy to play with.

My favorite happy baby picture.

Eight Months Old

Joshua turned eight months old today and here is his picture...thumb in mouth and all.

We went to Story Time at the library and met up with Javen and Silina. Joshua likes to grab at Javen and torture him. Pokes at his eyes and then pulls him to the floor. Good thing Silina understands what is going on because Javen tried it to Joshua too.

He Crawled

Joshua is two days shy of being eight months old and crawled today. Granted it wasn't a full fledged continuous crawl, but it was a forward crawl none the less and his goal was mommy's laptop. Must be from seeing Grandma in the computer so many times.

New Hat

The first picture is a motion shot. He wouldn't look at me, but he sure zoomed by on his way to the back door to see Tex.

Daddy's Home

I finally got video of Joshua running down the hall to greet Daddy when he comes home. This is one of the most precious videos.

Not On The Rug!!!

Joshua wanted to watch the tub filling up again after it got cold (he fell asleep on Daddy while I filled up the tub). The water got the need to go pee going. He peed all over the side of the tub and on the rug.

Homemade Baby Food

Photobucket
I did it!!! I actually made my first batch of baby food. I'd been noticing lately that Joshua is disliking the babyfood from the store. Raul and I have both tasted it and I wonder if the companies think that babies have no taste buds. The food is bland and flavorless. So I made a batch of Apple, Pear, and Cinnamon today. It was so easy and it tastes really good.

In the sauce pan ready to be cooked.

In the blender all pureed

In the freezer trays

Here is another one. It is onions, yellow squash, potatoes, and peas.
