You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.

Art Project Day

Today has been a nasty weather day....it's been a very rainy, sleeting, kind of day so we haven't been able to get out of the house, so I thought....why not strip Joshua down and let him have at it with the paints. He had a blast. He preferred to put the paint on his hands and then smear them together so I just started pouring paint into drops on the paper and he would smear them around towards himself. His legs are tinged blue-green right now, but at least it is winter time and he is in pants.

He's Climbing Now

Joshua is showing us how skilled he is with climbing in and out of his bed. We are trying to spend a little bit each day playing in his bed so that he thinks of it as a good place to be and not a little prison that Mommy and Daddy put him in to get away from him because they have more "important" things to do. So we put him into his bed after he fell asleep last night and he slept in it for almost an hour and probably would have either gone the whole night or at least a few hours more if he hadn't moved forward and hit his scout dog and it started talking to him, which in turn, scared the crude out of Raul and Joshua who woke up crying. He ended up back with us and snuggled up to me with his arms wrapped around my neck and his leg thrown over my stomach. Getting him to sleep in his own bed will have me missing my morning kisses and "Mama" being said to me repeatedly.

Random Pictures From The Past Week

Joshua taking a nap in his bed.
Learning how to spell DOG while in the tub.
Getting used to his helmet. We are going to get his bike seat in a couple weeks so that as soon as the weather is better we can go on bike rides.
Loving on Daddy after coming home from the airport.
Being silly in the tub...he has both thumbs in his belly button.
Watching Mommy make some casseroles to freeze.
Loving to read his library books.
Feeling much better after his really bad cold.

Cool Mist Humidifier

I went out and got this because Joshua had been so eager to touch my steam vaporizer, which is dangerous and hot, that I went to check out a Cool Mist Humidifier. Talk about having your baby go into a massive crying fit because he can't pick up the frog and play with it, but he can touch it. I'm going to have to have a growth chart made up of a frog dressed as a cowboy since he is so into frogs lately.
