You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.

Joshua's Room

After Aunt Sissy and Uncle John left I had to do some re-arranging of Joshua's room to fit his new ball pit into his room and I needed to hang up the wall hanging that Aunt Sissy sewed for him as well as the comforter and owl pillow for his bed.

Enjoying The Snow

Well, we got our annual day of snow last week. I know, I know...it's taking forever to get this posted. Other things have been going on and I haven't wanted to write much.
Anyway, we got about two inches of snow here in Elgin. I bundled Joshua all up to go out and play. Some people probably feel I was excessive, but with the wind chill it felt like 16 degrees out rather than the 26 degrees it was. Besides that, why send my kid out in just a sweatshirt and risk him getting sick. Joshua has been really healthy and it's probably because I take precautions like that all of the time. So he went out in his warm Carhart jacket, gloves, boots, and a hat (besides the one on the jacket). He had so much fun. I tried to get him to make a snow angel, but he wouldn't do it for me and I wasn't about to lay down and show him how.
So, here are some pictures of the snow day we had.

Strong Boy

Joshua was holding himself up between the love seat and the coffee table the other day and I mentioned that he was a very strong boy, so he started saying "I strong boy" and doing it more and more so I grabbed my camera and started taking some pictures of him. He loves getting his pictures taken lately and will smile so big for the camera. I love it. Here are the pictures of my "Strong Boy".

What's Your Name?

We've been working with Joshua on this question. People are always asking him, "What's your name?" and he just looks at them. So we will ask him at home and while he is prompted in this video he does usually answer on his own. He will tell you how old he is now and my favorite is when you ask him, "What's your daddy's name?". He thinks he is saying Raul, but it comes out as "Raaooon"...he doesn't quite have mommy's name yet.

(Papa and Nana....listen carefully to the end of the video)
